The Wife Between Us – Greer Hendricks & Sarah Pekkanen

Summary: When you read this book, you will make many assumptions.
You will assume you are reading about a jealous wife and her obsession with her replacement.
You will assume you are reading about a woman about to enter a new marriage with the man she loves.
You will assume the first wife was a disaster and that the husband was well rid of her.
You will assume you know the motives, the history, the anatomy of the relationships.
Assume nothing.

Discover the next blockbuster novel of suspense, and get ready for the read of your life. (From Goodreads)

I feel like I have read every single “next Gone Girl” book. And NONE of them have ever risen to the occasion. It’s like I’m constantly chasing that high that a good thriller gives you. I figured that my journey for a decent, unpredictable thriller was going to continue as the years go on.

BUT THEN the selections for the December Book of the Month came out (I’ll do a review for this service later maybe, but here’s my affiliate link where you can try it out for your first book for $9.99 and a tote bag lmao). I was a little hesitant at first because I have to admit, I didn’t really like the cover. It looks like one of those typical angry ex-wife stories that producers seem to make into a movie every year.

It’s not. It’s honestly incredible. I’m usually pretty good at guessing twists and I was sitting through the first quarter of the book rolling my eyes a little bit, expecting that I could predict the ending once again. Hahahahahaha, NOPE.

In fact, it’s hard to give a true review of this book because I don’t want to give anything away.

So, I’ll say this: if you’re looking for the next Gone Girl, get ready for this book to Gone Girl you.
